Jay has built his career serving Benton County through the Sheriff’s Office for more than 30 years, dealing with the realities of law enforcement, public safety, and community needs every day. He understands what works, what needs attention, and how important it is for the Sheriff’s Office to stay prepared, professional, and responsive.
Jay grew up in a law enforcement family and knew early on that he wanted to follow a similar path. His father, Ted Dingmann, served as the police and fire chief in Foley for many years and, after “retiring,” continued serving the community as a bailiff with the Benton County Sheriff’s Office. Public service has been a shared commitment across Jay’s family, his siblings have all served the Benton County Sheriff's office in one capacity or another.
